General Information:
Over time, collagen in our skin diminishes causing sagging, drooping and wrinkle formation. Certain factors like smoking, alcohol consumption, sun exposure and nutrition can accelerate these signs of aging.
Fractional laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that renews the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and other skin irregularities. The most recent advance in technology utilizes fractional lasers which deliver light in an array of focused microbeams that produce a gradual remodeling of collagen within the skin, resulting in a fresher more youthful skin tone and texture.

Fractional Laser Resurfacing can help with the following:
Who can benefit from this procedure? Fractional laser skin resurfacing can be performed on patients of any age who are looking to restore their skin to a smooth, clear complexion and reduce wrinkles and other signs of aging.
What is the treatment like? A laser handpiece is guided across the treatment area delivering microbeams of energy into the skin. Treatments can get quite hot, but topical anesthetics and other measures are taken to minimize any discomfort. The procedure can be as quick as 30 minutes depending on the treatment area but the entire visit can last up to an hour.
What can I expect after treatment? Swelling and redness are common immediately after treatment and typically resolve in 3 to 4 days. On a microscopic tissue level, the heated columns that have been treated undergo a natural healing process that forms new healthy tissue. Most patients can return to work and other normal activities after a few days, however, redness may persist for several weeks.
When should I start seeing a change?
Improvements in the appearance of your skin can typically be seen as soon as one month, and may take months to fully appear. Some patients may require more than one procedure to achieve their desired results.
